This is why I’m on hiatus: Daphne insists on lying on top of my arms while I’m at the computer, making it effectively impossible to do anything at all.*
* Not really.
These days, her sweet face is a disturbing combination of adorable and gruesome, what with the stitches and the cone. She’s got a little bit of a Phantom of the Opera thing going on right now
But she’s still her sweet, lovely self. Always, always. My dearest girl.
Well . . . My darling baby cat is now officially Daphne the one-eyed wonder. She had a cancerous growth over her eye, which we had removed, but the oncologist recommended we remove the eye in order to excise as much of the cancerous tissue as possible. Hopefully this means we’ve caught it all, but the sort of cancer she has is very aggressive and has a pretty good chance of recurrence.
So far she’s recovering reasonably well, although there will be a lot of big adjustments for her in the future. But whatever else happens, she will continue to be the sweetest, most loving creature I’ve ever met. She’s truly my best cat.
I am sitting in bed and Daphne is sitting on my lap, bumping into things with her cone and trying to nuzzle me through the plastic. I love you, best cat.
